It was Dignity in Care Day on Thursday 25th February. The campaign is fronted by Michael Parkinson and looks to recognise and provide a celebration for people who both live and work in care homes.
At Saxonwood, Sussex Housing & Care’s residential care home in Battle, the residents were asked what activities they enjoyed the best and staff made sure the residents were in for an extra treat.
The ‘Land Army Girls’ were invited to perform at Saxonwood and gave a fantastic musical rendition of life as it was during the war and all the residents had such good fun reminiscing about all the things they used to get up to. A lot of singing and joining in from the residents made it a fun afternoon for all. It was wonderful to witness the sparkle back in some of the residents’ eyes as they remembered their youth.
