Local engineering company donates face shields

Sussex Housing & Care would like to say a big “thank you” to Ricardo who have donated 100 protective face shields for use in our care homes across Sussex.

These shields form part of the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) used by care teams and have been designed and manufactured locally by Ricardo in Shoreham, West Sussex. Day to day this engineering consultancy designs, develops and builds engines for an array of transport including super cars, but they have quickly turned their hand to supporting font line workers during the coronavirus pandemic.

Amanda Hodge, Director of Housing & Care at Sussex Housing & Care, said: “It’s incredible to see the generosity of businesses and the community, showing support for one another during these tough times. Ricardo have done a fantastic job in designing, testing and producing these face shields and we are grateful for this donation which will be put to good use.”
