Variety of activities planned for Dementia Action Week 2024

Sussex Housing & Care are supporting Dementia Action week across our dementia friendly care homes in Haywards Heath, Crowborough and Battle.

The week runs from 13 to 19 May 2024 and we have a variety of activities for residents, their families and visitors to enjoy, to celebrate living well with dementia and bringing our community together.

Dementia Action Week is led by the Alzheimer's Society as an awareness raising campaign, to encourage people to take action on dementia.

Here is our line up for the week…we welcome visitors to our homes, come and join us!

Woodlands care home, Crowborough

  • Monday 13 May, 11am to 12pm – Live violin performance
  • Tuesday 14 May, 11am to 12pm – Spanish dancing and musical performance
  • Wednesday 15 May, 3pm to 4pm – Knit and natter

Saxonwood care home, Battle

  • Monday 13 May, 10.30am – self portrait art with the Painted Ladies
  • Tuesday 14 May, 3pm – vintage tea party
  • Wednesday 15 May, 3pm – ukulele band
  • Thursday 16 May, 3pm – Saxonwood’s dog show
  • Friday 17 May, 3pm – Dementia awareness workshop led by our dementia champions

Oakwood Court care home, Haywards Heath

  • Tuesday 14 May, 11am – Live singing performance
  • Thursday 16 May, 11am – country music vibes, live singing
  • Friday 17th May, 11am – Memory ball game

We welcome visitors to our care homes, if you are interested in attending any of the above events please contact the care home to arrange your visit.
