VE Day memories shared by Sussex Housing & Care residents
It's incredible to hear first hand, the precious memories and recollections our residents have of VE Day and the celebrations they were part of when the war ended 80 years ago.
For many of us we can only imagine what it must have felt like to hear the then-Prime Minister Winston Churchill announcing World War Two in Europe had come to an end. Thank you to our residents in the video below who have shared their vivid memories of this day, many of whom were only young children at the time.
We are looking forward to an array of celebrations tomorrow across our care homes and housing schemes, bringing together our communities and marking this poignant occasion.
