My experience of moving into a care home

Denys, a resident at Woodlands care home in Crowborough, shares his experience of moving into care, “I’ve lived here two or three years. My wife died so I was on my own. Me and my family decided this would be the best option.

When I moved in everything just fell into place. It was a nice room and I was able to bring the bits I had, it felt homely.

That’s my favourite thing about Woodlands, it’s like a home. There are lots of activities you can join in if you want to, the people here are pretty great.  All in all it’s very good.

If you are moving into a home the one piece of advice I would give is – try and make the most of it and make it your home. I can’t fault it.

Unfortunately my family are moving to Suffolk so I will soon be moving to a home close by, I will miss it here.”

If you or a loved one are looking for a short stay at Woodlands, we are currently offering one week free of charge to those staying with us for two weeks or more.
