Relatives begin to visit care homes safely

Our four care homes have begun to welcome family and friends to safely visit outdoor areas.

Tracy Evans, Chief Executive said: “We know how difficult it has been for families and friends to not see their loved ones during this period. Our number one priority has been to do all we can to keep our residents safe. I’m really pleased that we have been able to now put in place arrangements for residents to safely see their families. I hope you understand that this needs to be managed carefully in order to protect everyone. There have been some big smiles this week, reuniting families in real life, not just virtually!

Whilst the government guidance has not changed and our care homes continue to be closed to non-essential visitors, these arrangements for safe outdoor visits for residents’ families have been welcomed. We will continue to carefully manage these spaces to make sure everyone stays safe.  We are also looking at what arrangements we can put in place in the longer term that wouldn’t be weather dependent. Best wishes to all of you and your families.”

All visits from relatives must be booked in advance directly with the care home, and we will give you guidance to make your visit safe.
