We welcomed students studying Health and Social Care at Haywards Heath College to Oakwood Court care home in Haywards Heath on 3 June to gain experience and to see first hand, what it's like to work in a care home.
Students took part in three workshops; hearing from staff about their experiences working in care and their job responsibilities, a catering talk and demonstration by our Chef Manager and lastly a bracelet making activity with our care home residents.
Our team explained the career pathways and opportunities there are in a care home, as well as promote volunteering and work experience placements.
Jack, who lives at Oakwood Court said: "I've enjoyed hearing from people with young ideas and interests and have found a great deal of warmth in their characters. It does so much for them visiting here as it does for me!"
We're already looking forward to their next visit in October!
