We're supporting national care home open day 2019

We're celebrating National Care Home Open Day on Friday 28th June at all four of our care homes. You're invited to come along and join in the fun - there's lots planned!

This year’s theme, 'celebrating arts in care', aims to demonstrate how care homes are creative communities.

Seaside Party - Woodlands care home, Crowborough

Come along to Woodlands care home and enjoy seaside activities, food and fun! Our new seaside corridor, painted by Woodlands residents and young people in Crowborough, will be revealed by Nus Ghani MP and Crowborough Mayor Councillor Greg Rose.

The new Crowborough Dementia Choir will sing seaside songs at their debut performance.

10am to 12 noon

Join in the big reveal of our beachy corridor which has been painted by residents and students from Battle Abbey School. Enjoy refreshments and entertainment through out the morning, including a punch and judy show. We are looking forward to welcoming Huw Merriman MP.

Our garden party starts at 11am with Rob T’s waves of music and fruit cocktails. Ryan’s music therapy, taking us back through the years, will begin at 2pm and from 3pm an art session decorating plant pots and planting will be led by Sarah at Creative Minds. There will also be stencilling of the garden benches, all topped off with Sally Ann’s famous cupcakes complimented by fruity lemonade.

National Care Home Open Day is now in its 7th year and the day encourages homes to open their doors to celebrate a different theme each year, with a few key values at its heart: friendship, making connections and celebrating older and vulnerable people. For more information please visit the national care home open day website.

We look forward to welcoming you on 28th June!
