We are looking for a Deputy Manager for our dementia friendly care home in Haywards Heath. This is an exciting time to join our expanding team as we have recently extended Oakwood Court from a 33 to a 60 bed home, along with new and modern facilities.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the Care Home Manager in the day to day running of the home, deputising for the manager in their absence to ensure high standards are maintained within the home
- Assisting the manager to ensure the home is sufficiently staffed at all times providing a consistent service to the residents and to be ‘on call’ at certain times,
- Assisting the Care Home or Head of Care with assessing potential residents, ensuring the home maintains a high level of occupancy.
- Assisting the Home Manager with identifying and addressing any resident, relative and staff issues
- Ensuring the home meets its regulatory and legal requirements
Candidate Requirements
We are looking for someone who has:
- NVQ level 3 or equivalent is essential, with a willingness to undertake further training
- A minimum of 2 years experience in a supervisory position within a care setting
- The ability to effectively lead and develop a high performing team
- Experience of managing staff and helping them develop through learning, staff supervisions and appraisals
- Understanding of the issues involved in caring for frailer older people
- Sound understanding of the Fundamental Standards of Quality and Safety
- Understanding of safeguarding
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good numeracy, literacy and IT skills and is willing to learn new systems
Employment Details
- Employment Type: Permanent
- Hours: 40 hours per week, including some weekends
- Pay: £35,924.75 Annually
